Ultraman was created in 1966 by the team of Eiji Tsuburaya, one of the most important names in special effects cinema in Japan. of the longest running and most profitable franchises of the genre. Ultraman was the first Ultra to arrive on Earth, and defends the planet against alien invasions and Kaiju monsters. He arrived on Earth while chasing the Bemular monster, and accidentally collided with the jet of Shin Hayata, a Scientific Patrol officer, who was on an escort mission. Hayata was killed in the same accident, but out of remorse, Ultraman gave Hayata his own life and mixed their bodies together to keep him alive. After Bemular was destroyed, Ultraman stayed to protect Earth from further threats. Written and produced by Hideaki Anno, the film Shin Ultraman features a remake based on the original series of the first Ultraman, based on a painting by Tohl Narita (the hero's main visual designer) and an image by costume actor Bin Furuya original hero in the 1966 series, celebrating the character's 55th birthday. The film is a co-production between Tsuburaya Productions, Toho and Khara.
