The Bishoujo Collection statue line was launched by Kotobukiya in 2010, featuring seductive Japanese versions of Western pop culture icons. The term "Bishoujo" in Japanese slang refers to beautiful young girls. Courtney Whitmore is a young heroine who was a member of the Justice Society of America and the JSA All-Stars. She originally operated as the Star-Spangled Kid (Sideral) wearing the Cosmic Converter Belt of Sylvester Pemberton (the original Sidereal hero), but when Jack Knight (Starman) left the Cosmic Rod to her, she adopted the name Stargirl. With the belt and the baton, she continues the legacy of the Star-Spangled Kid and Starman.
